The winery explains that in Mandarin, Penfolds is pronounced “ben fu,” which translates to “chasing prosperity.” Additionally, the number 8 is considered a lucky number in Chinese culture—of which the number is in a majority of Penfolds’ Bin numbers—including this limited series of Bin 389.
